FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

If there’s one thing that is made clear by Katelina ‘Gata’ Eccleston’s work it’s that marginalized struggles are interconnected. The stomping grounds of the militarization of the police and its evolution from El Caribe to the Middle East share a common thread: Resistance. Reggaeton originally used as resistance music, is the sound that united an entire parallel movement from Jamaica, Panama, Puerto Rico, the Dominican Republic and beyond.

As political tensions rise overseas, the importance of speaking out against atrocities, the collective responsibility of human beings [EDIT] is at the top of the priority list. Katelina ‘Gata’ Eccleston, the respected Music Critic, Journalist, Historian will speak to these themes in concert to the social responsibility of mass communication at her 2 hour lectured at UCSD on Thursday May 9th at the Price Center.

Join us, in order to amplify the work of the brave students who risked their careers and lives to speak up and speak out against genocide in Palestine via their various solidarity efforts. Learn more about the Pro-Palestine movement and how to support via reggaetonconlagata.com/viva/palestina
